Since I have started on this topic I have learned that Macs don't get viruses. I found this out because our game involved thing that prevent viruses and when our school got new macs they told us that macs don't get viruses. I believe that this is true and from a trustworthy source because it is from a teacher and I am hoping at least that she knew what she knows what she is talking about. lol

This week we finished our power point and then presented our games. I didn't enjoy having to dress up for our presenting though because it was kind of useless because globaloria people weren't here.

No we haven't had to any additional research for our game since we did originally.

We have changed our game from fighting to a platform game which we call a race. The civics value that it has though is that you will learn stuff about running a election campaign.

Well this week our problem is that we are trying to get our game to go from the actual game back to menus so that we can ask questions.

This week was alright we worked on our games and then had a to do a really long typeing thing to answer questions about our game on our blogs.

About our game.

1. Our game topic is a political campaign only you actually fight instead of the normal type of political fight.
2. It is very political and the characters are real politicians who will have real biographies.
3.First, the start screen will pop up saying "The Political Fight Club". There will be a button that you click to start. When you click that you will be taken to the instructions screen, there will learn how to play our game. You will also learn what our game is about \. Then you click continue, that will take you to the "Select Your Party" screen. After you choose your party, it will take you to the "Stage Select" screen. After you choose your stage, you can select your character. Once you have done all of that, you will see a biography of your character. Once you have done all of that, you will see a biography of your character, get asked a few questions, then you are ready to fight! While you fight you will gain campaign money if you win. If you win, you become the president of the United States of America! If you fail to win ,you will lose, and the opposite party will defeat you. Along the way you will also be quizzed on random facts about our country, your player, your enemy, and other things.
4. Our game “The Political Fight Club” relates to civics because you learn about the campaigning system, some of our political leaders, and ways you can spend campaign money that you will earn. The ways you learn about the campaign system are that you will win money through fights at real campaign events. Then you will learn about some of our political leaders because along with their fighting traits and stats you will get biography traits such as age, party, campaign slogan, and other facts about the person. Last you will earn and spend your campaign money. You will gain your campaign money through winning fights against other political figures. You will then spend your campaign money on actual campaign things such as a real campaign would spend it on ,but instead of actually buying them they will buy you speed boosts, size boost, jump boosts, or maybe a strength boost.
5. It teaches about some of our political leaders and a little about how a campaign works.
6. It deals with a function of government or that is how I would categorize it. It deals with the campaign system is why I would put it under dealing with a function of government.

I think that for school it is good to do a civics category but, it would be much more fun if we could make our games about anything that we wanted. Mainly because it is so much easier to pick a category when it doesn't have to pertain to civics.

Well this week we sort of made a lot of progress on our game. We were doing pretty well until we had a problem that took forever to fix. What happened was Ralph Nader (the animation) gained supper anti stop powers so no matter what we did no stop(){ codes would stop the page when he was doing his thing. Eventually after we finally move the text out of the way of the button we had been trying to get Ralph Nader to stop destroying Ralph decided that he liked it so he then proceeded to cooperate with us and stop when told to so that we could finally successfully link our Start, Instructions, and Party Select pages together. Then on another story the people from Globaloria came in this week and gave us some ideas on was to improve our game and talked to us about a competition we were having and stuff which was pretty cool and that was pretty much it for this week.

Well this week I was sick for most of the week with stomach flu. We worked on our games, learned to make buttons, and played some constitutional games. The constitutional games had a glitch though either the newspaper of death or the loading screen froze. So I couln't really play one of the games. It was fun for the 15 sec. that it lasted though.

Well, our team name is Ethnix or in regular fonts . Our members are Brandon "The Hitman" and Jacob "Azian". Political figures fighting is basically the subject of our game. Well last week was a fun week we did paper prototypes. Hatton and I made ours and it was pretty cool. We have a first level and we made a bunch of ideas. So it was a pretty good week overall.

Most Important Part of Flash

The Menu is the most important thing for us to learn because you can get to any feature or any part of flash using the menu. All the other topics are important but to get to alot of them in the first place to use them you have to be able to navigate the menu. So that is the most important part in my opinion.

Flash Problems

This was a good and fairly easy project to start out on. We only had to big problems really the getting the carrot and rabbit to move. Then trying to get the carrots to disappear on the bunny. Other than that it was pretty smooth. It all ended up working though so it was in the end a good starting project.

Game Reviews

American Symbols was a nice game. There was no point deduction or lose of anything for wrong answers though so i recamend that you add that.

Bump the birds was a nice game but i think they might want to make the maze part a little harder to make it a little more fun

I didn't really enjoy playing the news that much it was a good current game to know what is happensing. There was no real game to it though it was jsut information and making a prediction. Plus there is only one subject your talking about.

Pick Twelve was a pretty good game but you couldn't lose the case no matter what jury you picked. Plus you didn't really give enough information to make a good choice. Although you did have a large varitety of choices which was good.

Geography America was a nice game it was well made and a fun game to play. I don't have any complaints ,but the states need to be drawn better as in the shape, size, and placement of them.Like Maryland, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania.

I couldn't figure out how to win Redistricting which is sort of a problem.

The bill of rights game was very challengeing but i don't really have many of the rights memmorized.

Branches of Government and There should be a law Are both kind of educational games. The big difference is that Branches of Government is more of a quiz where There should be a law more teaches you. I think that based off of that you could pick which game you want to play.

I would like to do a party game. Probably a first person rail shooter. Maybe some type of racing game too.

I might do a game like microsoft's tinker though. It's a puzzle game and it seems very fun. The only problem is that i don't know if i could keep coming up with new ideas for levels.

I think the best game i played was 3rd world farmer. It's a Construction and Management game. I didn't find any glitches or problems with the game. However i did think that the game was a little hard because the amount of money some of the things cost was a little much for the small amount of money you earn.
